 Ron Howard |
The Ron Howard Interview – Ron Howard, the actor-director who gained fame as a youngster as “Little Opie” on the “Andy Griffith Show” and as Richie Cunningham in the popular TV series “Happy Days,” (before growing up and directing films like “Cacoon”), was in Dallas to receive the National Association of Theater Owners Man of the Year Award when this interview was conducted. He talks fondly about his “happy days” with the Fonz (Henry Winkler) on the TV series, his “clean cut good guy” image (“Everybody gets stereotyped”), working with the late John Wayne in “The Shootist,” (“It’s corny, but he’s a legend”), receiving a nomination for a Golden Globe Award, having the number one show on television, directing his first movie (“Grand Theft Auto”), winning the NATO Award (“The first award I ever got”) and his ambitions and dreams (”Go for it”).
